28 Jan 2014 - On 27 January 2014, the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the North Darfur Prisons Administration, launched a three-week training programme for more than 60 newly recruited prison staff.
26 Jan 2014 - On 25 January 2014, the African Union – United Nations Joint Special Representative (JSR) for Darfur, Mohamed Ibn Chambas concluded a two-day visit to El Geneina, West Darfur, where he met with local authorities and participated in the Social Peace Conference organized by the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA).

29 Dec 2013 - On 29 December 2013, a UNAMID Police patrol team was attacked by an unidentified group while on a routine patrol in Graida, South Darfur. Two UNAMID Police advisors, from Jordan and Senegal, lost their lives. Two of the killers were detained by local security authorities.
18 Dec 2013 - El Fasher, 18 December 2013 – The African Union-United Nations Joint Special Representative for Darfur, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, has welcomed the decision taken by the Sudan Liberation Army/Minni Minawi (SLA/MM) to prohibit the recruitment and use of child soldiers in its ranks.
17 Dec 2013 - On 17 December 2013, inmates from Shallah Federal Prison in El Fasher, North Darfur, graduated from an intensive training course during which they acquired various vocational skills, including in welding, masonry and electrical work, in two new workshops that UNAMID recently constructed.

12 Dec 2013 - Addis Ababa, 12 December 2013 – The African Union-United Nations Joint Chief Mediator for Darfur, Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas, said he values and appreciates the three-day workshop on peace and security in Darfur, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the participation of two non-signatory movements, Sudan Liberation Army / Minni Minawi (SLA/MM) and the Justice and Equality Movement / Gibril Ibrahim (JEM/Gibril).
