01 Jun 2014 - El Fasher, 1 June 2014 – As Sudan marked its first National Day for Peace on 31 May 2014, as stipulated in the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD), UNAMID hopes that this occasion is a positive step towards attaining long awaited and much aspired for peace to the people of Sudan, especially the people of Darfur.
25 May 2014 - Geneva (Switzerland), 25 May 2014 —African Union-United Nations Joint Special Representative (JSR) for Darfur and Chief mediator, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, concluded a two-day visit to Geneva on 23 May, where he held several meetings at the United Nations Office and met with the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
24 May 2014 - El Fasher, 24 May 2014 — An African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur peacekeeper was killed and three others were injured on the morning of 24 May in Kabkabiya, North Darfur, while attending a mediation meeting between two disputing tribes.
