  • 06 Jun 2015 - The Secretary-General is deeply gratified by the release today of two United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) contractors who were abducted in Zalingei, Central Darfur, Sudan, on 29 January. The Secretary-General commends the efforts made by UNAMID and expresses his appreciation to the Governments of Sudan and Russia in securing their safe release.
  • 04 Jun 2015 - El Fasher, 4 June 2015 - On 2 June 2015 a group of unidentified armed men attacked an unescorted goods convoy of a local contractor transporting UNAMID Contingent-Owned Equipment (COE) in Doma area, South Darfur, while en-route from Nyala to Port Sudan. 
  • 19 May 2015 - El Fasher, 19 May 2015 -The revised UNAMID Protection of Civilians Strategy and the draft framework for ISF implementation, monitoring and reporting mechanism were among the main issues discussed at a coordination meeting between the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and the African Union - United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) held on 17 May, in El Fasher, North Darfur.
  • 12 May 2015 - El fasher, 12 May 2015- UNAMID strongly deplores the rapid deterioration of tensions between the Ma'alia and the Reziegat tribes into armed confrontations resulting in the death of dozens of fighters from both sides and the injury of many others. The Mission remains gravely concerned about the continued mobilization on both sides despite a temporary lull in the fighting.
  • 11 May 2015 - El Fasher, 11 May 2015- The African Union – United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) expresses serious concern over the recent escalation of tensions between the Rezeigat and the Ma’alia tribes in East Darfur. UNAMID encourages the leaders and members of both tribes to exercise maximum restraint, engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve their dispute and refrain from all acts that would lead to violence and displacement.
  • 28 Apr 2015 - On 28 April 2015, the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) was declared the Country Winner for Sudan of the 2014 Saville Foundation Pan-African Awards for Entrepreneurship in Education. The award was given to UNAMID’s Community-based, Labour-Intensive Projects (CLIPs) programme, led by the Mission’s Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Section.
  • 27 Apr 2015 - Addis Ababa, 27 April 2015: The Chairperson of the Commission of the African Union (AU), Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, is deeply concerned by the deadly incidents which took place on 23 and 24 April 2015 in Kass, South Darfur. Peacekeepers from the AU–United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) protecting water points were attacked by gunmen.
  • 27 Apr 2015 - The Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the recent increase in attacks on peacekeepers serving in the African Union United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) and the limited cooperation provided by the Government of Sudan in addressing these incidents.  The Secretary-General condemns the two successive attacks by unidentified armed groups that occurred in Kass, South Darfur, on 23 and 24 April.
  • 26 Apr 2015 - On 26 April 2015, the Chief of Defence Staff of Rwandan Defence Forces and former UNAMID Force Commander, General Patrick Nyamvumba and his accompanying delegation visited Zalingei, Central Darfur. Upon his arrival, General Nyamvumba addressed the Rwanbatt-42 troops following a guard of honour.
  • 25 Apr 2015 - El Fasher, 25 April 2015 – The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) reiterates that its peacekeepers responded to two attacks against them by armed men in Kass, South Darfur, on 23 and 24 April 2015, denying recent media misreporting on the incident.
