  • 24 Apr 2015 - El Fasher, 24 April 2015 - UNAMID peacekeepers have repelled two attacks by unidentified armed men in Kass, 85 kilometers north-west of Nyala, South Darfur. The ensuing exchange of fire resulted in at least four attackers killed and six peacekeepers and one assailant injured. 
  • 22 Apr 2015 - On 22 April 2015, UNAMID’s Communications and Public Information Section (CPIS) in Central Darfur, in collaboration with the Gender Advisory Unit (GAU) and UNAMID Police Gender Office organized a peace workshop for women’s groups in Zalingei.
  • 17 Mar 2015 - Khartoum, 17 March 2015 – A joint working group composed of 16 Sudanese Government officials, 13 United Nations/UNAMID officials and 8 African Union officials met today to start preparations for drawing out a common strategy for UNAMID's eventual exit from Darfur.

    08 Mar 2015 - On 8 March 2015 , under the theme of “Empowering women, Empowering community” the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), in collaboration with the North Darfur State’s Committee for Resolution 1325 on Women, and the Practical Action Organization celebrated the International Women’s Day in El Fasher, North Darfur.
  • 04 Mar 2015 - On 04 March 2015, the African Union United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) held a one-day job fair for its Sudanese staff; for them to explore potential future job opportunities in the wake of the ongoing streamlining process for the Mission. The event, which was held under the theme “Uniting Talent with Opportunities,” took place at the UNAMID Headquarters in El Fasher, North Darfur.
  • 28 Feb 2015 - El Fasher, 28 February 2015 – Following the strategic review of the African Union – United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) operations undertaken in 2014 and as endorsed by the African Union Peace and Security Council and the UN Security Council; UNAMID continues to realign its resources and staffing to best serve the achievement of the Mission’s revised strategic priorities.

    21 Feb 2015 - On 21 February 2015, the first batch of the Indonesian Infantry Battalion composed of 268 personnel arrived in El Geneina, West Darfur, to join the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID). This is part of the 800 military personnel expected to boost the strength of the Mission and to assist in the implementation of its mandate.
  • 19 Feb 2015 - El Fasher, 19 February 2015 – United Nations and African Union officials met in Khartoum on 15-18 February to continue discussions with the Sudanese Government on UNAMID's eventual exit from Darfur.

    13 Feb 2015 - El Fasher, 13 February 2015 – On 12 February, the Deputy Joint Special Representative (DJSR) of the African Union – United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Abdul Kamara, visited Um Baru in North Darfur, where newly internally displaced persons (IDPs) have sought refuge near the Mission’s team site.
  • 12 Feb 2015 - Following yesterday's meeting with the Secretary-General, the Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson met today with Professor Ibrahim Ghandour, Assistant to President Omar Hassan-Al Bashir of Sudan and Deputy Chairman of the National Congress Party.
