10 Mar 2016 - The members of the Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attack on African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) peacekeepers while accompanying a humanitarian convoy travelling from Kutum to Djarido, North Darfur, by a group of unidentified armed men on 9 March 2016. One South African peacekeeper was killed and another injured in the attack.
10 Mar 2016 - The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, condemn Wednesday's attack on the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) by an unknown armed group, in which one South African peacekeeper was killed and another wounded. The attack took place 40 km southwest of Kutum, North Darfur, while the peacekeepers, on patrol, were travelling from Kutum to Djarido.

27 Jan 2016 - The number of civilians seeking refuge in the vicinity of UNAMID’s Sortoni team site, North Darfur, has increased to 14,770, including 1,493 men, 4,097 women and 9,180 children. These figures represent more than 52 per cent increase in just 24 hours which has, reportedly, been caused by intensified aerial bombings carried out during the afternoon of 25 January 2016.
