23 Apr 2012 - One of the four formed police unit (FPU) from Togo, who sustained injures following an attack by unidentified gunmen on 20 April, was announced dead yesterday in UNAMID hospital.
FPU were on a routine patrol about 70 kilometres southeast of El Geneina, West Darfur, when they came under gunfire.

21 Apr 2012 - El FASHER—A UNAMID formed police unit patrol (FPU) from Togo was attacked by unidentified gunmen on 20 April just before noon while on a routine patrol. The team of 32 officers had been patrolling in the Sisi internally displaced persons camp and were returning to their base camp in Mourne, West Darfur, about 70 kilometres southeast of El Geneina, when men armed with AK-47 rifles attacked them, injuring two FPU members.

11 Apr 2012 - 10 April 2012 - The newly appointed Chairperson for the National Commission for Human Rights, Ms. Amal Hassan Babiker Altinay, arrived today in El Fasher, North Darfur, as part of her five-day visit to the region. The purpose of the trip is to meet people who have been affected by the conflict and to raise awareness about the protection of human rights under the country’s laws.
