08 Apr 2012 - 27 March 2012 - As part of its support for growth and development among Darfur’s communities, officials of the African Union - United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) today inspected the extent of work at El Fasher Library in North Darfur. The facility is undergoing rehabilitation, equipping and furnishing of its facilities to create a new learning environment.

08 Apr 2012 - 3 April 2012 - UNAMID peacekeepers based in Sortony, North Darfur, yesterday visited Smara village, 5 km east of the Mission’s camp, and confirmed that bombings were carried out about 250 meters from the village on 1 April 2012.

29 Mar 2012 - 27 March 2012 - At least three civilians are dead following an altercation today in the vicinity of Kabkabiya, located approximately 130 kilometers west of El Fasher, North Darfur.
The dispute, in the Bergi market area of the locality, allegedly broke out when the population confronted the Sudanese police over concerns that the market was to be relocated by the local commissioner. Two women were reported killed.
29 Mar 2012 - Kabkabiya, 28 March 2012 – The Head of the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur, Joint Special Representative (JSR) Ibrahim Gambari, flew to Kabkabiya today and offered his condolences to the community for the loss of life which occurred yesterday. In his address to local leaders, he assured them of UNAMID’s support for a peaceful resolution to the situation, which had led to the death of three civilians in the North Darfur community.
