UNAMID Radio Unit has been broadcasting its radio programmes around Darfur since July 2011.Two of its flagship programmes are the Voice of Children; a weekly magazine style radio programme that is produced and presented by children aged 9 to 15 years old, and Yala Nebni Darfur (Lets Build Darfur); one-hour-magazine style radio programme focusing on themes related to UNAMID mandate. Both of these radio programmes are broadcast on radio Al Salaam 98.0 FM in Khartoum and 7.2MHz, 41 Meter Band SW in Darfur every day from 08:30 to 09:30 and from 14:00 to 15:00.

The radio unit has recently launched its new magazine programme, UNAMID Today, a 30 minute radio programme that highlights the Mission’s activities and human interest stories in Darfur. The programme is broadcast  on El Fasher radio, 95 FM and 801 AM every day from 9:30 to 10:00. 

The radio programmes are broadcast in Arabic.

    The voice of the children of Darfur discussing how to choose an honest and loyal friend, in order to avoid getting into the wrong hands and falling into the prohibited. 

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.31, August 2017: Raising awareness about HIV/AIDS in Darfur

    This programme features United Nations African Union Mission is raising awareness about HIV/AIDS in Darfur, by conducting an HIV and AIDS induction training for 112 members of the Mission’s troops and 17 Civilian Police advisors at the Korma team site, located about 175 km northeast of El Fasher.

     

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.30, August 2017: Children’s vaccination

    This programme features an interview with Mohammed Adam Ibrahim, Head of Vaccination Center, in Melleit, North Darfur, about how to convince families to bring their kids for vaccination against diseases.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.29, August 2017: Children contribute peace through arts

    In this programme you will hear about children’s contribution to peace   through cultural performances in Nyala, South Darfur.

  • Voice of Children, Vol 1.28, August 2017: Children’s welfare in IDPs camps (repeat)

    This programme talks about children who live in IDP camps who have to earn money for living by washing cars, at the same time being victims of abuses and exploitation.  

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.27, August 2017: Interview with Muna Elnour from Kunjara village

    This programme features an interview with Muna Elnour, Head of the Association Foundation, a charity organization in Kunjara village, 45 km west of El Fasher capital of North Darfur State.

     

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.26, August 2017: Provisions on women equality in West Darfur

    This programme features a workshop organized by UNAMID Gender Advisory Unit to address women provisions and equality in the implementation of Doha Document for Peace in Darfur in West Darfur.

  • Voice of Children, Vol 1.25, August 2017: Children’s welfare in IDPs camps
