UNAMID Radio Unit has been broadcasting its radio programmes around Darfur since July 2011.Two of its flagship programmes are the Voice of Children; a weekly magazine style radio programme that is produced and presented by children aged 9 to 15 years old, and Yala Nebni Darfur (Lets Build Darfur); one-hour-magazine style radio programme focusing on themes related to UNAMID mandate. Both of these radio programmes are broadcast on radio Al Salaam 98.0 FM in Khartoum and 7.2MHz, 41 Meter Band SW in Darfur every day from 08:30 to 09:30 and from 14:00 to 15:00.

The radio unit has recently launched its new magazine programme, UNAMID Today, a 30 minute radio programme that highlights the Mission’s activities and human interest stories in Darfur. The programme is broadcast  on El Fasher radio, 95 FM and 801 AM every day from 9:30 to 10:00. 

The radio programmes are broadcast in Arabic.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol1.30, September 2017: An interview with midwife from Shangil Tobay

    In this programme you will hear about an interview with Asia Ismail Adam, a midwife from Shangil Tobay Health Center, about common problems faced by pregnant woman in the area.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol1.29, September 2017: Campaign on traffic safety procedures

    In this programme you will hear about a campaign for Darfuris to observe traffic safety procedures in South Darfur, this event is jointly organized by UNAMID and State Ministry of Youth and Sport in Nyala, South Darfur.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol1.28, September 2017: Campaign on gender equality in Darfur

    In this programme you will hear about raising awareness campaign about issues of gender inequality and violence against women and children in Darfur.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol1.27, September 2017: Early marriage in Zamzam

    In this programme you will hear about problem of early marriage in Zamzam, North Darfur, and what the community leaders are doing to overcome the problem.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol1.26, September 2017: Medical aid for inmates of Shalla prison

    In this programme you will hear about UNAMID supported activity in collaboration with National Prisons Administration of North Darfur in providing medical services support to inmates of Shalla prison.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol1.25, September 2017: Children of Abu Shouk

    This programme features children activities in Abu Shouk Internally Displace Person camp in El Fasher, Darfur.
