24 Jul 2010 - 20 July 2010 - UNAMID yesterday took part in a humanitarian assessment mission to Kurti, 30 KM north of El Geneina, West Darfur. The objective of the mission was to assess the effect of the rainy season and how UNAMID can work with other partners to prevent the destruction of crops this year.

20 Jul 2010 -19 July 2010 - A British delegation led by Mr. Michael Ryder, the United Kingdom's Special Envoy to the Sudan, and Mr. Nicholas Kay, the UK's Ambassador to the Sudan, today met with UNAMID Joint Special Representative Ibrahim Gambari and other senior mission officials in El Fasher, North Darfur. The one-day familiarization visit focused primarily on the political and security situation.

20 Jul 2010 -18 July 2010 - Following torrential rains last weekend, UNAMID today donated 1500 liters (7.5 barrels) of diesel to help clean up El Geneina, West Darfur. The municipality was hard hit by the downpour, which destroyed a large number of building, leaving many people homeless and businesses affected. The diesel will power much of the heavy machinery needed to remove debris and unblock drainage systems.

15 Jul 2010 - 14 July 2010 - In North Darfur, yesterday, Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) clashed with Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) fighters near the Adola Mountains and near Kuma, 110 km southwest and 80 km northwest of Um Kadada, respectively. The number of possible casualties has yet to be determined.

15 Jul 2010 - 14 July 2010 - Yesterday, the Al Salam Peace defeated the Zamzam Tigers by a score of 3 to 0 in the first match of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) youth football tournament in El Fasher, North Darfur. The players had to endure strong winds, dust and eventually a rainstorm, throughout the match.
