  • 09 Jul 2010 - 29 June 2010 - Two Darfur tribes, the Misseriya and Rezeigat Nouaiba, yesterday signed a reconciliation agreement in Zalingei, West Darfur. The ceremony, held at the local University, was attended by the Wali (Governor) of West Darfur, officials from the Sudanese Judicial and Legislative Council, senior military and police officials and members of the Native Authority, as well as officials from UNAMID.
  • 09 Jul 2010 - 29 June 2010 - As part of its capacity building programme, UNAMID organized a workshop at the University of Nyala, South Darfur, aimed at raising technological awareness, including a review of remote sensing and global positioning systems (GPS) and how technology can support managers at all levels for more informed decision making as well as map reading.

    7 July 2010 - Two UNAMID vehicles were carjacked in separate incidents by unknown armed men yesterday in Nyala, South Darfur, at about 18:20hrs.

    7 July 2010 - Talks are scheduled to be held in Doha, on 15 July 2010, for the signing of a peace agreement between the Liberation and Justice Movement (LJM) and the Government of the Sudan, according to Ghazi Salah Eldin, the Government’s representative.

  • 09 Jul 2010 - The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) today said it will continue to deliberate with Government authorities in North Darfur to ensure that judicial processes are correctly followed with regards to the continued detention of a number of leaders of the Abu Shouk and El Salaam internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in El Fasher.
  • 09 Jul 2010 - 19 November 2009 - The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) has received confirmed reports that 11 persons have been killed, four injured and two missing following an attack by unidentified armed men on two villages – Taman and Shaleb Shaleb – close to Khor Abeche, South Darfur, more than 200 kilometres south of El Fasher.
