02 December 2010 - A humanitarian assistance mission planned by a UN agency to the east Jebel Marra areas of Golobai, Jawa and Deribat could not be conducted for the third time in recent weeks. Lack of timely security clearance from the Sudanese authorities and logistical constraints for the airlifting of the necessary protection force are the cause of these successive delays.
28 Nov 2010 - AU-UN Joint Chief Mediator (JCM) for Darfur Djibrill Bassolé and the Qatari Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud arrived today in El Fasher, North Darfur. The visit is aimed at conducting extensive consultations on the ongoing Doha peace process with the local authorities and representatives of civil society, including internally displaced persons, nomadic communities and other stakeholders.
16 Nov 2010 - A total of 13 registration centers opened today throughout Darfur’s three states, allowing South Sudan inhabitants who live in the region to participate in the upcoming referendum on the self-determination of South Sudan. The registration process will run through 1 December. UNAMID airlifted registration materials to select locations in South Darfur.

11 November 2010 - Under Secretary-General for Peacekeeping, Alain Le Roy today concluded his three-day visit to Darfur, where he met senior UNAMID and government officials, assessed the security situation and was appraised on the implementation of the Mission’s mandate.
