They will be trained and equipped with agriculture skills that can be used for their reintegration into society on completion of their sentences.

     20 November 2011 - In its continued efforts to engage the local community, UNAMID presented today sports equipment to five secondary schools from Abu Shouk, Al Salaam and Zamzam internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in North Darfur, which will participate in the Back to School Tournament. The kits included balls, nets, footwear and clothes for female and male volleyball and football teams.
  • 17 Nov 2011 - El Fasher, 17 November 2011 - UNAMID organized today in El Fasher, North Darfur, an open day on the progress in the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security under the theme “Women count for peace”. More than 100 women from Darfur’s three states participated in the event, including officials from the state governments, legislators and UN agencies.
