06 Mar 2017 - KHARTOUM - The 12th meeting of the Implementation Follow-up Commission (IFC) of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) was held today in Khartoum, Sudan. The Commission discussed the progress made and the challenges faced in the implementation of the DDPD since its last meeting which was held on 9 May 2016, also in Khartoum.

19 Jan 2017 - GENEVA - The United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights and international sanctions, Idriss Jazairy, welcomed the recent decision of President Barack Obama to lift most sanctions unilaterally imposed by the United States on Sudan.
16 Jan 2017 - NEW YORK - United Nations Security Council President, Mr. Olof Skoog, briefed media on peace and security in Darfur and other areas of Africa.

Civilians are pounded with deadly force. Women, children and men are killed and injured, forced from their homes, dispossessed and destitute. Even hospitals and aid convoys are targeted.

Sarun Pradhan and Ramesh Karki, both nationals of Nepal, and Musa Omer Musa Mohamed, a citizen of Sudan, are unharmed and are undergoing medical checks.
