17 Nov 2009 - 15 November 2009 - In its seventh meeting scheduled to be held in Khartoum tomorrow, Monday 16 November, the Tripartite Mechanism on Darfur comprising officials from the African Union (AU), United Nations (UN) and Sudanese Government, will discuss a number of issues relevant to the future of the AU-UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

UNAMID Police attacked by gunmen – two seriously wounded
El Fasher, 18 October 2009: On Saturday 17 October at about 1300 hours, unknown gunmen attacked a formed police unit (FPU) escort of the AU-UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) wounding three policemen, two of them critically.

09 Nov 2009 - El Fasher, 29 August 2009: Two international civilian staff members – one man and one woman – of the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) were abducted at gunpoint by four or five armed men from their residence in Zalingei, West Darfur, about 400 kilometres from El Fasher, early today Saturday 29 August.
The incident is reported to have occurred at about 04.30 hours and the two staff members were taken to an unknown destination.

09 Nov 2009 - El Fasher, 29 September 2009: The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) strongly condemns the attack on a convoy carrying UNAMID civilian and military personnel by six to eight armed men in El Geneina on the evening of Monday 28 September at around 1845 hours that caused the death of one peacekeeper. The incident took place on the road from UNAMID super camp in El Geneina and the city.

09 Nov 2009 - El Fasher, 04 October 2009: The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) has received reports that 13 women and children were killed and 10 persons were seriously injured during a recent attack by more than 30 armed men on Korma, North Darfur, about 70 kilometres from El Fasher. It also learned that about 6,000 to 7,000 were displaced as a result of the attacks and the village has been completely abandoned. Four people were taken away as detainees by the attackers.

09 Nov 2009 - El Fasher, 13 October 2009: During the evening of Monday 12 October, unknown gunmen opened fire on a military officer of the AU-UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) while he was on guard duty in Kutum in North Darfur, about 100 kilometres from El Fasher.
