UNAMID Radio Unit has been broadcasting its radio programmes around Darfur since July 2011.Two of its flagship programmes are the Voice of Children; a weekly magazine style radio programme that is produced and presented by children aged 9 to 15 years old, and Yala Nebni Darfur (Lets Build Darfur); one-hour-magazine style radio programme focusing on themes related to UNAMID mandate. Both of these radio programmes are broadcast on radio Al Salaam 98.0 FM in Khartoum and 7.2MHz, 41 Meter Band SW in Darfur every day from 08:30 to 09:30 and from 14:00 to 15:00.

The radio unit has recently launched its new magazine programme, UNAMID Today, a 30 minute radio programme that highlights the Mission’s activities and human interest stories in Darfur. The programme is broadcast  on El Fasher radio, 95 FM and 801 AM every day from 9:30 to 10:00. 

The radio programmes are broadcast in Arabic.

    This program features UNAMID's assistance to young people at Ardametta camps in South Darfur in the reduction of employment in the area. 

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 11 June 2017: Challenges of blind people in Darfur

    In this programme you will hear about challenges faced by blind people of Darfur, and the importance for Darfuri to not discriminate them.  

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 10 June 2017: UNAMID supports training in prison administration

    This programme features a training in prison administration for prison officers in North Darfur.  

     

  • Voice of Children, 09 June 2017: How school exams affect Darfuri children?

    This programme reports about the psychological effects to Darfuri children during school exam time.

     

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 08 June 2017: UNAMID supports students in Melit

    This programme features UNAMID’s support activities to the communities of Melit, North Darfur, by building classrooms and providing clean water to students in the municipality. In this programme, you will also hear an interview with a headmaster of primary school for boys in Melit locality, about the UNAMID’s support and its impact in promoting education in the area. 

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 07 June 2017: UNAMID led human rights training

    This programme features the involvement of civil administrations in building peace and peaceful living in Darfur as well as training for 30 prison officers in South Darfur in human rights issues.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 06 June 2017: Children of IDP camps in South Darfur

    This programme features an interview with Saleh Bahr of UNICEF's Child Protection Unit on psychological and social support for children in Internally Displaced Camps in South Darfur as well as a conversation on health and environmental protection at Utash camp in South Darfur.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 05 June 2017: Peace co-existence in North Darfur

    This programme features a UNAMID led seminar on cultural activities  in  North Darfur. The seminar also discusses about the importance of a peaceful co-existence in El-Fasher, North Darfur. This programme also features a journalism training for female journalists in their role in building peace.   

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 04 June 2017: Cultural seminar in South Darfur

    This programme features seminar  on that has recently been organized in South Darfur. This seminar discusses about the Rainbow Society’s activities in the form of singing, drama and culture in Darfur, as well as an interview with Chertay Tayeb Abakoura about his role in supporting peace through civil administration. 

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, 03 June 2017: Health is better than wealth

    This programme features an interview with Balqis Awad Salihi, a nutrition specialist, about the training course on health awareness for women in North Darfur. The programme also features an interview with Mohamed Adam Ibrahim, immunization officer in the municipality of Melit on the need to immunize children from diseases.
