UNAMID Radio Unit has been broadcasting its radio programmes around Darfur since July 2011.Two of its flagship programmes are the Voice of Children; a weekly magazine style radio programme that is produced and presented by children aged 9 to 15 years old, and Yala Nebni Darfur (Lets Build Darfur); one-hour-magazine style radio programme focusing on themes related to UNAMID mandate. Both of these radio programmes are broadcast on radio Al Salaam 98.0 FM in Khartoum and 7.2MHz, 41 Meter Band SW in Darfur every day from 08:30 to 09:30 and from 14:00 to 15:00.

The radio unit has recently launched its new magazine programme, UNAMID Today, a 30 minute radio programme that highlights the Mission’s activities and human interest stories in Darfur. The programme is broadcast  on El Fasher radio, 95 FM and 801 AM every day from 9:30 to 10:00. 

The radio programmes are broadcast in Arabic.

    In this programme you will hear about a report on how UNAMID sponsored youth workshop to encourage youths of Darfur to work together for the future of Darfur.  

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.12, November 2017: Peaceful co-existence activities in West Darfur

    This programme features UNAMID supported activities in campaigning for peaceful co-existence amongst people from different tribes in West Darfur.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.11, November 2017: Girls’ wishes for Darfuri society

    This programme talks about how girls in Darfur want to break barrier in the society and to be treated equally with men in various sectors in the society of North Darfur.  

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.10, November 2017: Saraf Oumra community

    This programme features community of Saraf Oumra in North Darfur that  has  been working with UNAMID team site to prevent conflicts in the locality. 

     

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.9, November 2017: Women empowerment

    This programme discusses about traditional industries in Darfur in empowering women to be independent. 

     

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.8, November 2017: UN volunteer’s contribution to the environment

    This programme talks about UNAMID volunteers’ contribution to the reforestation and environment protection around El Fasher maternity hospital.

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.7, November 2017: Children development in Darfur

    This programme talks about the importance of breastfeeding for children’s development in Darfur. 

  • Yala Nebni Darfur, Vol 1.6, November 2017: Kunjara Secondary School helps build peace

    This programme features an interview with Director of Kunjara Secondary School about the importance of education in contributing peace in Darfur.
