22 March 2011 - More than 120 UNAMID Nigerian police advisors were today recognized for their contributions toward sustainable peace and security in Darfur. The medal parade, held in El Fasher, North Darfur, was attended by Former Chief Justice of Nigeria Alfa Belgore, UNAMID Joint Special Representative Ibrahim Gambari and the Mission leadership.

The Republic of Nigeria is among UNAMID’s largest troop contributing countries, providing more than 3,800 military and police peacekeepers.
