18 Sep 11 - UNAMID offers English course to North Darfur lawyers

18 September 2011 - UNAMID Rule of Law section, in collaboration with El Fasher University, started today an English language training programme for 50 lawyers from North Darfur.

The course was a request from the Bar Association in El Fasher who expressed the need for the lawyers to learn English in order to further their studies in law generally and specially in the fields of human rights and international humanitarian law. They also expected that the training will open greater opportunities for the lawyers who experienced language barriers in accessing and using comparative legal materials and resources from other parts of the world.

During 45 days, the participants will learn grammar rules, basic conversation skills, as well as legal, judicial and police terminology.
