10 March 2011 - More than 300 students today participated in a debate on peace and development organized by the University of El Fasher Center for Peace and Development Studies and UNAMID.

The topic of discussion was whether it is peace that brings development or development that brings peace.

Following the forum, the participants voted between the two options, in which 54 per cent of the ballots chose peace as a prerequisite for development.

This event, held at El Fasher University, marked the second of its kind in the institution with the purpose of giving the opportunity to Darfuri students to share their ideas through dialogue.
