07 March 2011 - UNAMID acting Deputy Joint Special Representative Ki-Doulaye Corentin yesterday visited Forobaranga, located approximately 150 km south of El Geneina, West Darfur, where he met with IDPs, local authorities and Mission personnel at the UNAMID’s team site.

Ki-Doulaye, accompanied by UNAMID senior officials, recognized the positive steps made by the peacekeepers in advancing the Mission’s mandate, particularly in supporting the development of local capacity and early recovery activities. The IDP leaders raised humanitarian concerns, including the lack of water and food, as well as the need for more health and education facilities.
