05 Aug 10 - Community leaders attend UNAMID substance abuse workshop




05 August 2010 - Sixty community leaders from the Ottash IDP camp, located on the outskirts of Nyala in South Darfur, yesterday concluded a three-day workshop organized by UNAMID Police and the State’s Drug Control Committee on drug and alcohol abuse.

 

The workshop was part of a series of sensitization seminars aimed at providing participants with basic information about the effects of substance abuse on the body, the consequences of addiction and its impact on society. The participants discussed and will return to share their knowledge with their respective communities.
