05 April 2011 - More than 100 local community leaders today met with UNAMID Civil Affairs in Zalingei, West Darfur, to discuss the promotion of effective and inclusive good governance, at the start of a two-day seminar.

The participants included representatives of native administration, teachers’ unions, women’s and youth groups and other civil society organizations. The seminar provided a forum for the exchange of ideas on practical ways local institutions can play a pivotal role in conflict resolution and development in Darfur.
