UNAMID presents checks for community projects in South Darfur

22 April 2010 - UNAMID presented checks yesterday in Nyala, South Darfur, to assist local and international non-government organizations (NGOs) in funding small–scale community projects.

The quick impacts projects (QIPs) will assist the local community to improve health facilities, rehabilitate schools and build-up infrastructure.

The UNAMID-funded projects will be carried out by the implementing partners in different localities and will cover the areas of health, water and sanitation, education, environment, community development, shelter, and programmes aimed at empowering women.
