UNAMID peacekeepers provide medical support to displaced community

As part of ongoing work to assist the local communities across Darfur, UNAMID peacekeepers from Nigeria provided medical care for more than 100 people from the Neem IDP camp in El Daein, East Darfur on 14 April.

The displaced persons were treated for various illnesses, including malaria, meningitis and skin infections such as scabies, ringworm and rashes.

In addition to providing care, the medics informed the IDPs about risks associated with airborne diseases and how to prevent them. Additionally, the peacekeepers presented necessary items, such as stationery, detergent, prayer mats and shoes to the camp's elementary School students.
