UNAMID Hands over Land Registration Office in Forobaranga, West Darfur

On 31 August 2015, UNAMID's Rule of Law Office in Sector West handed over newly-built premises to the Land Registration office in Forobaranga, West Darfur. 

In his remark at the official handing over ceremony, Justice Mulana Baderdin Abdallah, the Deputy Chief Judge of the Judiciary, said, “The project has positive contribution in West Darfur. It will help citizens have their lands' rights, be it agricultural or residential land. Land registration is very important as a means of resolving the problem of land in West Darfur. We would like to thank UNAMID for their support in funding the construction of this registration office. We at the Judiciary confirm that we are ready to commence the work and we will continue our corporation and with UNAMID,"  

The representative of UNAMID Sector West Head of Office, Mr. Abdoul Sow, said “We hope that this contribution of UNAMID to the judiciary in Forobranga will help consolidate the relative peace here. We will continue to collaborate with you within our budget and our mandate."

The office block consists of 3 rooms made up of a waiting area, an archive room and an office space for registration.
