12 March 2009 -- Yesterday evening five staff members [three internationals and two nationals] from Medicins Sans Frontieres/Belgium were abducted by unknown armed men from their office in Saraf Umra, approximately 230 kms west of El Fasher, North Darfur.

UNAMID deplores this action against aid workers who are in the region to help the people of Darfur. UNAMID hopes for the safe and swift release of the aid workers.
