24 March; The UNAMID Drawdown Working Group met with the Central Darfur State Handover Committee at the State Headquarters in Zalingei, Central Darfur where they discussed the closure and handover of UNAMID’s Team Sites in Golo and Nertiti and the Mission’s Compound in Zalingei, including the critical need for civilian end use of the Mission’s team sites and assets. They agreed on the need to enhance coordination and cooperation in preparation for the formal closure and handover of the Team Sites and the gradual, smooth transition of UNAMID compound in Zalingei to the University of Zalingei.
