23 March; The monthly coordination and cooperation meeting between the Government of Sudan Joint Taskforce and UNAMID is held at the Mission’s Logistic Base in El-Fasher, North Darfur. The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the implementation of the UNAMID drawdown plan, team site closure and handover, troop and Contingent-owned equipment repatriation, staff reduction, as well as asset downsizing. The meeting agreed on measures for further enhancing the coordination mechanism and the exchange of information. The meeting was co-chaired by the Director of Mission Support, Mr. Houston Fergusson, and the Chairperson of the GOS Joint Taskforce, Brigadier General, Mohamed Abaker. Prior to the meeting the GOS Joint Taskforce held meetings with the North Darfur Government and made a field assessment trip to Shangil Tobaya. Photo by Deepak Tiwari, UNAMID.
