UNAMID’s Rule of Law Team in the UN State Liaison Functions (SLFs) in South Darfur, in partnership with the State Prisons Directorate, recently organized a two-week training programme on Prison Duties and Human Rights in Prison Operations for 30 newly recruited prison officers from the Prison Department in Nyala and Kass localities, South Darfur. Through this training, the prison officers acquire skills and knowledge in prison duties and the observance of human rights in the treatment and care of inmates in accordance with international standards.
