On 15 October 2019, UNAMID Joint Special Representative/ Joint Chief Mediator, Jeremiah Mamabolo (left), met H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit,
the President of the Republic of South Sudan at the Republican Palace in Juba, South Sudan. The meeting was held after the JSR had represented the African Union (AU) at the Launching Ceremony of the peace talks negotiations between the Government of Sudan and armed movements. JSR also affirmed the AU’s  readiness to support the Juba- hosted negotiations in every possible way in order to realise the aspirations of the Sudanese people for freedom, peace and justice.
