On 7 October 2019, UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix (center) and the African Union Commissioner for Peace and Security, Mr. Smail Chergui (left), started a three-day visit to Sudan, where they met in Khartoum with UNAMID Joint Special Representative, Mr. Jeremiah Mamabolo (right). The UN-AU key officials also attended the 27th Tripartite Coordination Mechanism Meeting on UNAMID and will travel to Darfur to hold discussions with UNAMID senior management and meet with Government of Sudan officials before concluding the visit.
