14 March 2009  --  The African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) has welcomed tonight’s safe release of four staff members with the non-governmental organization (NGO) Médecins Sans Frontières-Belgium, three days after they were abducted by unknown gunmen in North Darfur.

10 March 2009 -- Yesterday evening, a UNAMID patrol returning to its base in El Geneina, West Darfur was attacked by unknown armed men who fired at the vehicle with small arms.  Four peacekeepers were shot and wounded in the attack, one of them seriously.
