5 October 2008 -- A UNAMID Military Force from Nyala, Sector South, was dispatched to Kalma camp to reinforce the UNAMID Police at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, as a result of recent alleged threats of attack on the camp by the Government of Sudan (GoS) Forces.

7 October 2008 -- The AU, UN, GoS tripartite committee for the deployment of the hybrid operation in Darfur has today launched its first meeting at the Sudanese Foreign Affairs Ministry in Khartoum.

7 October 2008 -- The Secretary-General strongly condemns yesterday’s attack by a group of about 40 to 60 armed men on a convoy of UNAMID (African Union/United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur) troops on a route assessment patrol from Nyala to Khor Abeche.
