Horses Race for Peace in Central Darfur

On 1 February 2013, the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), in collaboration with the Zalingei Equestrian Club, organized a horse racing competition in Zalengie, Central Darfur, as part of the Mission’s outreach activities to promote peace in the region. A total of 39 well-traced pedigree runners took part in the competition, which was attended by thousands of people.
