The mental causes is very clear in the streets of Darfur, where one can see people living in the street mentally affected. But people probably didn’t have the idea that those who are affected can be treated if they took them to the hospital. The Main Place, to take the affected person is your Recovery Center, is a consumer-operated mental health recovery center that promotes recovery through peer support, socialization, education, and training. By working together, consumers build better lives for themselves, gain employment, maintain independence and earn acceptance within their communities, “let’s take those who are mentally sick to the hospital” that’s what the doctor asked for.

UNAMID Radio Unit has been broadcasting its radio programmes around Darfur since July 2011.Two of its flagship programmes are the Voice of Children; a weekly magazine style radio programme that is produced and presented by children aged 9 to 15 years old, and Yala Nebni Darfur (Lets Build Darfur); one-hour-magazine style radio programme focusing on themes related to UNAMID mandate. Both of these radio programmes are broadcast on radio Al Salaam 98.0 FM in Khartoum and 7.2MHz, 41 Meter Band SW in Darfur every day from 08:30 to 09:30 and from 14:00 to 15:00.
The radio unit has recently launched its new magazine programme, UNAMID Today, a 30 minute radio programme that highlights the Mission’s activities and human interest stories in Darfur. The programme is broadcast on El Fasher radio, 95 FM and 801 AM every day from 9:30 to 10:00.
The radio programmes are broadcast in Arabic.

Voice of Children 02 January 2017: Interviews with children from the Child Friends Group in Nyala.
This program features several interviews with children from the Child Friends Group in Nyala south Darfur, about their cultural activities. The program also features a report on “we need education” a program organized by Ministry of Education in North Darfur, for children from Abu-Shook IDPs Camp in North Darfur, to enhance the education awareness and opportunities for the displaced children, this program was supported by UNAMID.

Yala Nebni Darfur, 01 January 2017: UNAMID achievements and challenges in Darfur.
In this special program, Ashraf Issa, spokesman for the United Nations and the African Union mission in Darfur, said; the mission was able during 2016 to achieve a number of accomplishments, including dealing with what resulted in renewed fighting in Jebel Marra area. In an interview with Radio UNAMID Issa spoke about the most important challenges facing the mission, such as a large area of Darfur and the need to provide humanitarian assistance to the needy. Details in an interview conducted by colleague Adam Jacob Hamid Radio UNAMID with Mr.Issa featured in this program.

Yala Nebni Darfur 29 December 2016: Workshop on laws and policies affecting women's.
This program features the North Darfur Women's Legislative Caucus on laws and policies affecting women's, a workshop organized by UNAMID Gander Advisory Unit in EL-Fasher North Darfur. It also features an interview with Magda Ibrahim, UNAMID’s Gender Affairs Officer, about early marriage as a violence against women.

This program beside many other features it also Feature on how the youth of Darfur are working to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable production and consumption. According to the international Day of Youth the youth of Darfur are calling this year on how to work with donors create better environment in their societies and participation in peacebuilding and development.

This program features a Feature on children’s Truancy behavior and how this should be addressed. The program also contains an interview with Jihad Mohammed Yousef, Social worker abut Truancy in children, she states that a student missing more than 30 minutes of instruction without an excuse three times during the school year must be classified as a truant and reported to the proper school authority.

Voice of Children,26 December 2016 :Girls' education and gender equality
In this program features the Girls' education and gender equality, despite progress in recent years, girls continue to suffer severe disadvantage and exclusion in education systems throughout their lives. An estimated 31 million girls of primary school age and 32 million girls of lower secondary school age were out of school in 2013 worldwide, in Darfur the situation is not very different and that is why children of Darfur raised their voice high for equal education opportunities for girls and boys.

Yala Nebni Darfur, 25 December 2016: Ikhlas Mohammed a Youth Leader from Darfur.
This special program features an interview with Ikhlas Mohammed a Youth Leader who got in September 2014 a Sudanese and South Sudanese Youth Leaders Fellowship scholarship by the US Institute of Peace based in Washington D.C. Whereby she spent five months writing research paper on ”Women’s Role in Conflict Resolution in Darfur”. Ikhlas is also a creative poet and short story writer.
