31 Mar 11 - UNAMID improves school facilities in South Darfur

31 March 2011 - UNAMID yesterday conducted a visit to Mirair village, located about 53 kilometres northeast of Nyala, South Darfur, where the Mission’s Quick Impact Projects program funded the construction of two classrooms and one office at the Mirair Nomadic School.

The project was implemented by the local NGO Massar Organization for Nomads Development and the new facility will accommodate about one hundred students.

During the visit the team met with the local community who appealed for assistance in the provision of potable water and a bridge to facilitate their movement.
