26 Sep 11 - Peacekeepers provide medical assistance in West Darfur

26 September 2011 - UNAMID peacekeepers provided yesterday a one-day free medical treatment for about 120 residents of Kurti village, located 13 kilometers from El Geneina, West Darfur. The activity has been sponsored by the Nigerian Government and it included medical check-ups and dispensation of medicine by doctors from the Nigerian contingent.

The Nigerian troops are planning to extend the exercise to Regilkubri and Hilat Zaghawa villages in West Darfur.
