The main activities of the operation are cleaning households and the immediate living environment, fumigation of houses to eradicate rats, and filling potholes along the roads to eliminate mosquitoes breeding ground. The campaign will cover markets, affluent neighborhoods of El Fasher business districts, internally displaced persons camps and peri-urban residents.

The Mission is assisting the initiative with the provision of dump trucks and graders for the solid waste collection and transportation to the dump site. Furthermore, UNAMID will empty the septic tanks at the local hospitals and educational institutions to ensure good sanitary conditions and minimize health risks at those locations
