23 June 2010 - UNAMID today began a two-day human rights workshop for legal practitioners in El Fasher, North Darfur.

The twenty participants, comprising mainly judges, clerks and lawyers, are members of the Minni Minnawi faction of the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA/MM).

The event focused on such issues as national and international law on civil and criminal prosecutions, juvenile trials, gender issues and court record-keeping.
