16 Jun 10 - Ghanaian Police advisors recognized for service




16 June 2010 - A total of 249 Ghanaian police advisors serving with UNAMID today received peacekeeping medals in recognition of their commitment, professionalism, and dedication. Acting Police Commissioner, Mr. Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, who presided over the event, commended the officers for their contribution to peace and stability in Darfur and service to humanity.

 

Ghana has participated in several regional, international and UN peacekeeping missions and currently represents the largest police contributing country to the Mission, with 372 officers including 84 female police deployed throughout the region.
