14 March 2011 - Nearly one hundred participants today concluded a UNAMID-organized two-day workshop in Nyala, South Darfur, on the roles of civil society organizations and traditional leaders in democratic systems.

Representatives from youth and women’s groups, legislators and local officials exchanged ideas on the concepts of democracy and democratic systems and on the importance of the involvement of civil society to the process.
