UNAMID Protection of Civilians Team in the UN State Liaison Functions (SLFs) in South Darfur and UNHCR, in partnership with the State Ministry of Social Welfare recently conducted in Nyalaa one-day training workshop for 30 social workers from different South Darfur localities on the Government of Sudan National Plan for Protection of Civilians and durable solutions. The training is part of UNAMID’s plan to build the capacity of Government institutions to assume full responsibility of protection of civilians and identifying durable solutions for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area, as the Mission is drawing down from Darfur.
