On 11 March 2019, a joint African Union-United Nations Strategic Assessment Team on UNAMID conducted a field visit to Golo town where they met the Central Jebel Marra Locality Commissioner, Jafar Mohammed and Government officials. The meeting discussed issues related to UNAMID’s ongoing transition process and the Government of Sudan cooperation with the Mission in its mandate implementation as the Mission prepares to exit Darfur end June 2020.
