UNAMID Police refurbish healthcare centre in North Darfur locality

On 8 October 2014, as part of efforts to support local communities in the region, UNAMID Police Women’s Network completed the renovation of a maternity ward at Um Kadada Rural Hospital in North Darfur.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Esther Ashu Agbor, UNAMID Police Women’s Coordinator, explained that the project was aimed at supporting the local community as well as contributing to the availability of adequate healthcare facilities in the area.

Other speakers, including the Commissioner of Um Kadada locality, Mr. Siddiq Abdulbasil, expressed their appreciation for the Mission’s support and expressed the hope that the facility will contribute to the wellbeing of patients.

Additionally, members of the Women’s Network handed over necessary supplies such as mattresses and mosquito nets to the hospital.
