On 6 May 2016, UNAMID’s Joint Special Representative (JSR), Martin Uhomoibhi, concluded a five-day visit to the Mission’s Sectors across Darfur. On 20 April 2016, UNAMID Communications and Public Information Section in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Culture, Information and Tourism, in Zalingei, Central Darfur, organized a cultural festival with the participation of various tribes in the area. The event, aimed at strengthening the social fabric among local communities, included exhibition of local handmade products, traditional dances and musical concerts.
