    In this programme you will hear about a painful tradition of extracting teeth of children, being exercised in Darfur. The parents who conduct that excruciating teeth removal they do so under the belief that it brings a bad omen. They also believe the tooth has been cast and they call it ‘ a plastic tooth’. So many times the exercise in addition to leaving excruciating pain to the child it also affects him psychologically. The programme features an expert who explains why the practice is outdated and that it should be abandoned completely.

    In this programme you will hear about challenges faced by teachers and students of nomadic schools such as lack of resources, transportation, and health care. Nomads in Darfur move from north to south and vice versa.

    In this programme you will hear about the important role of radio in information dissemination for Darfuri. Insecurity and civil conflict has afflicted Darfur for more than a decade leaving some 300,000 people dead; at least two million have fled their homes fearing for their life and radio has pivotal role in disseminating information on peace and reconciliation.
