06 January 2011 - The security situation in all areas affected by fighting in December 2010 between the Government and rebel movements is reported to be calm. UNAMID continues to provide protection, water and emergency health care to the thousands displaced by the clashes sheltered outside the Mission team sites.
UNAMID peacekeepers monitor, assess and facilitate the resolution of humanitarian concerns.
