About 150 youth from El Fasher Technical School graduated on 15 September 2014 from a three-month training programme in which they acquired vocational skills in nine different professional specializations including auto mechanics, general electric, building, packaging, welding, sewing, IT and food processing. The training was organized as part of UNAMID’s Community-based Labor-Intensive projects (CLIP), which are designed to support at-risk young people and other vulnerable groups in Darfur.

Participants were given start-up kits to expand their employment opportunities, sustain their livelihoods and initiate income generating activities.

In addition, during the three-month training, the youth manufactured desks and chairs that will be used by 1,000 students in four schools constructed earlier through CLIP projects in North Darfur state and will help improve their educational environment.
