27 September 2010 - UNAMID has adopted a community confidence-building strategy which aims at focusing on the Mission’s efforts towards enhancing community confidence through the targeted use of quick impact projects; identification and allocation of additional funding and resources for key priority areas; enhancing protection in internally displaced person (IDP) camps and in the wider community; and up-scaling advocacy and communication initiatives to ensure that key messages are disseminated amongst the community.

The strategy is a response to the upsurge in tribal conflicts and harassment targeting the international community in South and West Darfur.
